September 16, 2018 – A View from the Rectory Window

In anticipation of our Parish Feast Day Celebration, for five weeks, parishioners joined me in Mission to discern the Holy Spirit’s direction for our parish family. Beginning next month you will be invited to add your input to the work that has begun. My hope is to establish a Mission Team to help me discern your input.

Another critical component of this year’s long work will be to identify a Convocation Team who will join me on March 25-28, 2019 at Harrah’s Atlantic City. The parish and the Diocese of Camden will cover your room and meal expenses.

This event, the Convocation of Catholic Leaders – The Joy of the Gospel in South Jersey will unite 650 Lay Leaders and their pastors to answer the call for all of us to have a “deeper encounter with Christ, best expressed in simple, confident, informed and joyous witness to the faith, which attracts others and invites them to wonder what secret is motivating the Christian Disciple.”

Some Key Highlights:

– Listen to key leaders within the Catholic Church share the current state and the messages of hope and what is possible.

– Hear the personal witness of your sisters and brothers from across the Diocese of Camden.

– Engage in multiple workshops and learn how others have answered the Call to Missionary Discipleship.

– Invite Others to the Body of Christ.

As so many point to the failures and brokenness of the Catholic Church, I am also daily renewed by the faith, joy and witness of our parish family. I see this Convocation as a chance to Gather – Listen – Share – Meet Others on Mission – Learn – and Renew Our Sense of Hope.

If you would be interested in joining me and nine other parishioners for this event, I encourage you to contact the parish office (609) 390-0664. I thank you in advance for considering this invitation.
