A Message from Father Pete

I write to ask you for your assistance to the 2016 Bishop’s Annual House of Charity Appeal.

At the beginning of this Jubilee Year of Mercy, Pope Francis invited us to recognize that, “Mercy is the ultimate and supreme act by which God comes to meet us…the bridge that connects God to His people, opening our hearts to the hope of being loved forever.”

When he introduced the 2016 House of Charity Appeal, Bishop Sullivan invited us to see the House of Charity as a way to rediscover the Church’s Works of Mercy.

As you may be aware, the goal for our parish is $100,772.42.  As of September 13, we have received, from approximately 228 donors, pledges in the amount of $89,212.50.

Based on our parish census, this suggests over 1,500 families in our parish have yet to make a contribution to this important effort.

To those who have not, I ask you to prayerfully consider making a pledge to the 2016 Bishop’s Annual House of Charity Appeal.  I ask you to be the ‘bridge’ spoken of in our Holy Father’s invitation.  Thank you,

Fr. Pete
