April 27, 2014 A (n improving) View from the Rectory Window

As you can see from the attached picture, or perhaps from your visit to the campus at Church of the Resurrection, our shrine to the Blessed Mother is well under way.

Our parish’s patron saint, Saint Maximilian Kolbe, encouraged us to consider that, “There is no doubt that the will of Mary should be the will of God for us. When we dedicate ourselves to Him, we become tools in her hands just as she became a tool in His. Let us let her direct us and lead us by the hand. Let us be calm and serene under her guidance. . . Never be afraid of loving the Blessed Virgin too much. You can never love her more than Jesus did.”

From the moment the bust of Saint Maximilian Kolbe was placed at the campus of Church of the Resurrection, I believed it was incomplete without a shrine to Our Lady. I trust that Saint Maximilian Kolbe would agree. That we may give fuller expression to our love for the Lord Jesus Christ by looking to and following the example of the Blessed Virgin Mary, I invite you to join us for the dedication of this
Shrine on the first Sunday of May; Sunday, May 4, 2014following the
9:30am Mass.

Since the month of May is traditionally set aside in a particular way to contemplate Mary and her pattern of discipleship to her Son, and because many of our children will be receiving their First Holy
Communion on Saturday May 3, we found the above date to be an opportune time to crown Mary and dedicate this Shrine.

Please join us and all those who have received their First Holy Communion for this special ‘May Crowning’.

May Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Father Pete
