August 21, 2016 A View from the Rectory Window

It was hot!  And still you came!  I stood in awe of the presence of so many who came to share in this wonderful moment in the life of our Church (the 75th anniversary of the martyrdom of Saint Maximilian Kolbe) and of our parish (our 5th Parish Feast Day).  While we can do little about the weather, there was still so much we had to pray for and prepare, for this day.

I thank:  The Parish Staff, our Pastoral Council, the Social Committee, the Knights of Columbus (Resurrection and Saint Casimir), the Knights of Columbus Women’s Auxiliary, Shelly Wurtz for planning, organizing and  running our Olympic events, Joe Mitchell for keeping us informed and on schedule, Agnes Bross for obtaining and donating the elements of the youth raffle, the many volunteers who sold and prepared our 50/50 raffle, our parish families who participated in the Mass, Jack Griffin and the Choir for the music at Mass, those who organized and participated in our “33 Days to Merciful Love” Retreat and Consecration, the Upper Township Rescue Squad and Parish Nurse Ministry, our parishioners and friends for providing the salads and desserts, the McPeak Family for providing Rita’s Water Ice, Dave Dempsey for providing the plane and banner, and once again to all who prayed the Miraculous Medal seeking Our Lady’s intercession for this celebration.

May Saint Maximilian Kolbe intercede for you and all those you love.

Father Pete
