January 21, 2018 – A View from the Rectory Window

As I write, the Minnesota Vikings are coming to Philly!  And then. . .

Super Bowl LII is Sunday, February 4, 2018.

The game, the commercials, the halftime show, the food . . . and a great moment to remember those less fortunate than ourselves.

In 2017, the Church of the Resurrection Food Pantry and the Saint Casimir Food Pantry/Thrift Shop assisted over 5,900 families in our community.

This year, I am hoping that February 4, 2018 might also be considered:

CEREAL BOWL SUNDAY to benefit the Food Pantries of Saint Maximilian Kolbe Parish.

Our hope is to cover 100 yards of a football field with boxes of cereal – from one End Zone to another.  Each box will be measured as the equivalent of one yard.

I invite you to bring a box of cereal to the Food Pantry containers located in the Church of the Resurrection and to the foyer of the Church of Saint Casimir over the weekends of  Sunday, January 28 and Sunday, February 4, 2018, or to the Thrift Shop during regular business hours.

Thank you for your unceasing goodness, Go Birds!

Fr. Pete
