Our patron Saint Maximilian Kolbe wrote:

“See then the tremendous honour of the position that God in his kindness has placed us in. Through obedience we transcend our own limitations and align ourselves with God’s will, which, with infinite wisdom and prudence, guides us to do what is best. Moreover, as we become filled with the divine will, which no created thing can resist, so we become stronger than all others.”

If I might borrow from our patron, I ask you to consider the tremendous kindnesses that God has placed us in. How often in this year past have we, confronted by our limitations, experienced a moment of God’s grace? Or, discovered our better selves? Or, embraced a strength we did not know we possessed? I have experienced these moments so many times in you.

I am stronger in faith, hope and love because of you.

On Thursday, August 14, the Feast Day of Saint Maximilian Kolbe, at 6:00pm on the beach in 24 East Williams Avenue and the beach, Strathmere, we will gather again to celebrate our parish community and to consider how often we have known the grace of God in each other.

Please plan to be with us.
