June 24, 2018 – A View from the Rectory Window

In anticipation of our Parish Feast Day celebration in 2015, our parish family joined in mission to consecrate ourselves individually and as a parish to the Blessed Mother, within the framework of “33 Days to Morning Glory.”

In 2016, responding to the Holy Father’s call to enter into a Jubilee Year of Mercy, we again, in anticipation of our Parish Feast Day celebration, entered into a parish mission entitled, “33 Days to Merciful Love.”

In 2017, inspired by the Spiritual Exercises of Saint Ignatius of Loyola, our parishioners entered into some personal discernment of their relationship with Our Lord entitled, “Cultivating Spiritual Awareness: Beginning Discernment.”

In light of Bishop Sullivan’s decision to re-appoint me as pastor of our parish family for another six years, we will, in anticipation of our Parish Feast Day, enter into one of the more critical moments in the life of our parish family. This year, our parish mission asks you to help me discern together what is to be the direction of our parish family in the coming years. The focus of this mission is to:

Embrace & Shape Our Future – Together

Tuesday Nights: 7:00 – 8:30pm
Church of the Resurrection
July 10, July 24, July 31, August 7
(No class on July 17)

Our Mission from Jesus – to love Him and to love one another

Following in the footsteps of our apostolic ancestors and in seeking every sheep to grow our loving flock – but how?
By trusting the Holy Spirit to Guide and by discerning our work as Missionary Disciples –
loving and serving Jesus

Because of the importance of this Mission, I have asked members of the parish staff, parish council, finance council and other leaders to share in this work of discernment. I truly believe this mission can set the direction of our parish family for years to come.

YOU are Needed!

May Saint Maximilian Kolbe pray for us,

Fr. Pete
