Stewardship Report

I write to encourage you to join me for a ‘Town Hall’ meeting on Thursday, October 11, at 7pm in the extension of the Church of the Resurrection. In next week’s bulletin, I will provide you with a fiscal accounting summary of our parish for the fiscal year of July 1, 2017 through June 30, 2018. To view the report: 2018 Financial Report for the people Final

I will also make available for your consideration, some of the efforts of our parishioners to care for those who are in need of spiritual, emotional, and/or physical assistance. It would not be possible to present the full scope of our efforts in one summary sheet. For this reason, I ask pardon of those who may feel that their efforts went unnoticed or unacknowledged. At the same time, I trust that our efforts are not done to win the praise of others, but rather, are in response to all that God has given us. The Parish Finance Council, the Parish Pastoral Council and I have sought to be prudent stewards of the resources entrusted to our care. You can read about these efforts in greater detail in the Pastoral Council Minutes found on our parish website. I know that transparency in this regard is one of our foremost obligations to you. I hope this brief report reflects our intention to be faithful to this obligation.

Members of the Parish Pastoral Council and Finance Council will be present to address any questions, concerns and/or recommendations that you may have for the life of our parish family.

Parish/Community Center

With diocesan consultation we have contracted with Manders Merighi Portadin Farrell Architects, LLC, Vineland, Stanker & Galetto, Inc., Vineland (Construction Manager) and Engineering Design Associates, Ocean View.

At this same meeting on October 11, 7pm, representatives from the architectural, engineering and construction firms with whom we have contracted for the construction of our parish/community center will be present to address the status of this important project in the life of our parish family.

To date, the parishioners of Saint Maximilian Kolbe have joined you in gifting and/or pledging one million nine hundred fifty seven thousand two hundred eighty four dollars ($1,957,284.77). These gifts and pledges have come from four hundred sixty seven (467) families and/or organizations in our parish and community. To date, nine hundred eighty one thousand five hundred nine dollars ($981,509.27) has been collected with an anticipated balance of nine hundred seventy five thousand seven hundred seventy five dollars ($975,775.50) to be collected over the next two and a half years.

In anticipation of this meeting I invite you to visit the parish website – saintmaxkolbe.com – to see the finalized floor plans and proposed building elevations for the parish/community center. You can view these documents from the home page under the Parish Center Capital Campaign tab, utilizing the drop down box to view these renderings. In addition to the floor plans and building elevations, we have determined the footprint site plan for the parish/community center.

It is my hope that we may be able to address any questions you may have in this regard. I again thank you again and anew for all that you do to ensure that our parish family strives to make a return to the Lord for His goodness to us and that our expressions of faith befit what we profess and believe.

Fr. Pete
